Congdon + Company - Johnson & Johnson Global
Communications Career Kit
Roy Levitt, Creative Director for Congdon + Co.,
in Greenwich, CT., informed Steve Dusek, his Imagine! sales rep, that they were
designing Johnson & Johnson's Global Communications Career Kit.
This kit consisted of a unique
pocket folder, unlike anything Imagine! has probably ever produced, along with 3
saddle-stitched booklets and an accordian piece 105" long that printed on our
64" press. Roy has produced many of his CRITICAL projects with Imagine! because
he knows we have the people, experience and technology to handle these types of
truly creative ideas he has been noted for. He also knows that every aspect of a
creative and complicated project will be produced in our facility and not
sent to outside vendors. Roy sent us a mock-up of the pocket folder and Eric
Ylvisaker in our CAD department created the perfect prototype that could be
printed, die cut, and hand 2-way taped in an efficient manner.
The
paper had to be FSC certified. We recommended Utopia U1X Silk which is: FSC Certified, Acid
free and pH neutral, elemental chlorine free and has 10% post-consumer recovered
fiber. The Johnson & Johnson PMS blue and red had to match in color and density
in all the accompanying pieces, and our in-house ink department did a wonderful
job formulating those colors. All of the accompanying pieces had critical
crossovers in the text with 3/4"top borders that crossed over every 2-page
spread. The saddle-stitched booklets were estimated and planned as scoring and
folding 4 pagers because of the crossovers. We did a wonderful job of production
from start to finish. Diana Brandau's group did a 1st class job of taping and
inserting this project.
We shipped 250 copies to Philadelphia for their
Global Communications Conference ON TIME along with the balance of 1,250 copies
to their mailing facility in New Jersey.
